ZM's Friday Jams Live 2022 recap - Macklemore, Akon, Ashanti, Shaggy & more!

After 3 years it feels so good to be back Aotearoa... and it was the biggest Friday Jams Live yet!

Macklemore, Akon, Ashanti, Shaggy, Jeremih, Jay Sean, DJ Havana Brown, and more took to the stage for the biggest party of the year. Playing to a sold-out crowd of 26,000, it was one for the history books.

Tbh being able to scream the rap during Jay Sean's 'Down' live was a bucket list moment as was being sprayed with water from Akon himself. And if you were one of the lucky ones who was a part of the wave for Macklemore's crowd surf, I am very, very jealous. Also a special mention to Ashanti's pipes, that gal can saaaaaaang. 

We were also lucky enough to have not one but TWO surprise performances! It was only right that Akon brought out Aotearoa's own Savage to perform 'Moonshine'. Then Tones and I hit the stage with Macklemore opening with their new single 'Chant' before coming back later to sing 'Good Old Days'. 

Massive shout out to everyone who came and partied with us - and to ZM's own Clint for smashing the hosting gig once again.

Let's do it all again next year!
