How often do you wake up, jarred because your dream felt real and then quickly Google what it meant?
Dreams can be fun leaving us confused with a funny story to tell. They can also be nightmares, manifestations of our worries or deepest, darkest thoughts.
It’s wild what the brain can do when we’re trying to catch a few z’s.
A lot of us have the same dream centred around a particular theme, lucky for us new research has revealed what certain dreams mean.
A Luxury bedding retailer, 'Secret Linen Store' has analysed the most commonly Googled dreams across more than 180 countries, spanning 392 dream subjects. Here’s what they discovered!
What does it mean when we dream about our teeth falling out?
It might mean you have feelings of self-doubt, frustration or fear. Turns out Kiwis dream about this the most!
This can reveal themes of loyalty and protection regarding our relationships. The dream could represent subconscious musings as to whether a person is looking out for you, or is a threat, which could be inferred by how friendly the dog is in the dream.
It’s thought to be a symbol of self-confidence and self-worth. If you dream about money regularly, it could mean you're feeling rich in life.
They’re often symbolic of the dreamer struggling to make a tricky decision, perhaps bringing to light something that needs to be confronted in waking life.
Being Pregnant in a dream:
This can be linked with one experiencing something new in their life. Research has found it can mean you are growing as a person!
Dreams based on relationships are also common. If an ex is popping up, it could be a sign of healing. It’s your subconscious trying to help you process your feelings and move on.
If you’re interested to know what each continent dreams about the most, here’s what the research had to say!
- Europe: Being pregnant
