Selena Gomez wears shirt with an eyebrow-raising statement after Justin Bieber's engagement

Selena Gomez may have just sassed her ex-boyfriend in the best way possible. 

Even though her first love is newly engaged, Selena still managed to step out in NY city with a big smile on her face and a printed t-shirt with a quote that may be a reference to Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's recent engagement. 

For the outing in the city, Gomez wore a black T-shirt with "only the strong survive" written on it.

Gomez was asked about the couple's engagement by photographers while out in NYC on Tuesday, but she didn't respond and ignored the question, instead letting her t-shirt do the talking.

Gomez and Bieber dated on and off since 2010, most recently calling it quits in March. After news broke of Bieber and Baldwin's engagement, friends of Selena have since said that the news isn't bothering her. 

"Selena was surprised an engagement happened this quickly but not surprised Justin would do something like this knowing who he is. At the end of the day though she doesn't really care," one source told E! News of the singer's reaction to the news.

"Selena is totally over him. She had tried again to make it work that last time and it didn't work out."
