Indie-pop trio Cellarr have gone back to basics with nostalgic new tune 'Everybody Else'!
Cellarr is an indie-pop band from Auckland, formed by the three founding members of Openside.
Having served up an EP's worth of groove-pop anthems, gaining over 500,000 streams independently, followed by a sold-out headline show and festival debut at Rhythm and Vines, the trio have found themselves looking back.
An Openside writing camp born from the desire to go back to basics has left Cellarr with a collection of songs laced in nostalgia. 'Everybody Else' is the first offering, a dedication to wanting to carve out a slice of the world to call your own.
About the song the band said in an Instagram post, "We wrote this quite a long time ago, with our good friend Jake (probably over a Kingfisher). The song sat in the vault of forgotten songs til it finally struck a chord with us.
It is essentially about finding your way in life, not wanting to be like “everybody else” and, in our elderly age, we felt like it was time to set this one free." So wholesome!
