New Zealand group LA Women return with their new single ‘Don’t Call Me Back’.
LA Women hang up on hopeless romanticism with ‘Don’t Call Me Back’. The anthem discourages settling for somebody who you sense isn’t right for you just for the sake of being in a relationship.
More recently influenced by the likes of R&B artists such as 6LACK and Ty Dolla $ign, the trio are back with their most upbeat R&B-infused single to date.
“Don’t Call Me Back was a song that came about literally from a voice memo of a melody being hummed, and the lyrics kinda just fit the cadence of the voice memo. Without realising it I wrote somewhat of a sassy song,” lead singer Jake laughs.
“It’s not about anyone in particular, but more about that feeling you get when you find yourself with someone you shouldn’t be with.”
